LT Seed Library Seed Swap – 10am
Presenter: Leah Crenwelge, local resident
As a daughter of the pioneers who have been farming and ranching in the Texas Hill Country since the 1840s, Leah is excited to share with you her love of this land and its incredible plant biodiversity. Free seeds available through the LT Seed Library include Central Texas native plants and thriving veggies/herbs. Bring your extra seeds to swap or stop by for pro tips! Donations of heirloom/open-pollinated veggie/herb seeds and native plant seeds are also welcome.
Growing Native Plants from Seed – 2pm
Presenter: Craig Bruska, Chair Native Seed Committee, Native Plant Society of Texas
Learn how and when to sow native plants seeds to create a native wildlife habitat from seed. Using the lowest cost method to replace water hungry nonnative grasses and plants with their native Texas plant equivalents suited to the Lakeway area. Learn how to select the right native plant to grow from seed for the soil, light, water needs.
