SUMMARY:Wildflower Center's Native Plant Sale
DESCRIPTION:The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center’s Spring Native Plant Sale features a variety of Texas natives\, including perennial and annual flowers\, grasses\, vines\, shrubs and trees for shady and sunny gardens. Native plants conserve water; lower mowing costs; provide habitat for birds\, butterflies and other wildlife; protect and enrich soil; and reduce the use of fertilizer and pesticides. Plus\, they’re beautiful! Starting 9am-1pm on the weekend of March 24th (Fri\, Sat\, Sun) and continuing each weekend through May 7th\, 2023. \n\n\nStarting March 31\, guests will be admitted to the plant sale on a first-come\, first-served basis. Entry is included with the cost of general admission.

SUMMARY:2023 Earth-Kind Field Day
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the 2023 Earth-Kind Field Day this spring! Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Travis County Master Gardeners announce their spring 2023 Earth-Kind Gardening Field Day to be held Saturday\, March 25th from 9 am to 1 pm at the Travis County AgriLife Extension office located at 1600 Smith Road\, Austin\, TX 78721 (map). Parking is available along Smith Road. The event is free and open to the public. \nThe spring 2023 theme is Container Gardening 101 – for indoor and outdoor gardening. The first 100 attendees will receive a free 5.5″ eco-container and saucer. \nWorkshops will teach participants about houseplant care\, growing ornamentals or vegetables in pots\, and create a composting system. Other activities focus on vermicomposting\, irrigation\, rainwater harvesting\, and entomology.
