Wildflower Center’s Native Plant Sale
Wildflower Center 4801 La Crosse Ave, Austin, TX, United StatesThe Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center's Spring Native Plant Sale features a variety of Texas natives, including perennial and annual flowers, grasses, vines, shrubs and trees for shady and sunny gardens. Native plants conserve water; lower mowing costs; provide habitat for birds, butterflies and other wildlife; protect and enrich soil; and reduce the use of fertilizer and pesticides. Plus, they’re beautiful! Starting 9am-1pm on the weekend of March 24th (Fri, Sat, Sun) and continuing each weekend through May 7th, 2023. Starting March 31, guests will be admitted to the plant sale on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry is included with the cost of general admission.
Gardening for Birds & Pollinators

Landscaping with Grasses and Sedges

Birds in the Landscape
Wildflower Center 4801 La Crosse Ave, Austin, TX, United StatesJoin birders from Travis Audubon and horticulturists from the Wildflower Center on a morning field trip the second Thursday of every month. Your guides will help identify both native and migratory birds and the native plants they rely on for food and shelter. Bring binoculars to see what feathered friends you can find throughout the gardens. This class will take place in person at the Wildflower Center. Space is limited and registration is required. PLEASE NOTE: In February 2023, this class will meet on the third Thursday of the month (Feb. 16). $15 per adult and $8 per youth (5 – 17 yrs). Container Gardening Workshop
Wildflower Center 4801 La Crosse Ave, Austin, TX, United StatesLearning the art of container gardening means you don't need a lot of land to support pollinators, enjoy the benefits of greenery and get your hands in the soil! Create a portable native plant paradise on your patio, balcony, or in your yard with this hands-on workshop taught by our very own Samantha Elkinton, Gardens Manager. Learn how to identify native plants that do well in containers and get tips for transplanting and keeping your flora healthy. Materials and plants for this class are included with registration. Participants are also welcome to bring a container of their choice (size specifications will be sent to participants prior to the workshop). This class will take place in person at the Wildflower Center. Space is limited and registration is required.
